Thank you for your interest in managing a CHGS team for the upcoming season. This form helps CHGS understand candidate interest, availability, experience, coaching philosophy, and alignment with league expectations before in-person interviews.

Submitting this form does not guarantee selection. All manager appointments are subject to CHGS Board approval, applicable bylaws/ground rules, background clearance requirements, and any  rules or procedures adopted by the league.

The following describes how CHGS selects managers for Rec and Select teams, per Article VI of the By-Laws and Section V of the Ground Rules.

Select & Rec Team Managers (Spring & Fall)

All manager and coach applicants must be in good standing with the league. The process works as follows:

1. Application (June/July) & Interview (Early August). New and returning applicants may be required to participate in an interview process conducted by the league Player Agent.
2. Review. Applications are reviewed by the Player Agent and the Division Commissioner.
3. Board Approval (First Tuesday in August). Applications may be subject to approval by the Board.
4. Background Check. All manager, coach, and team parent applicants must agree to undergo a background check by USA Softball (ASA). Applicants denied by USA Softball will not be permitted to participate as a manager, coach, or team parent.
5. Ongoing Requirements. All approved managers, coaches, and team parents must display a picture ID USA Softball card at all times while on the field. Managers and coaches are expected to be courteous, civil, and to display good sportsmanship at all league functions. The Division Commissioner serves as the liaison between team personnel and the Board and makes recommendations regarding all managers in that division for Board approval.
